There are times when a newly formed band goes straight to the top. Primal fear are a band of the kind. Formed by Ralf Scheepers, Mat Sinner (Mathias Lascher), Tom Naumann and Klaus Sperling this band released their first album in the first months of 1998 that rocked the metal scene. Ralf Scheepers (former Gamma Ray vocalist) was about to present a concert with "Just Priest", his Judas Priest tribute band, but their guitarist was unavailable for the evening because he was getting married ! On top of this, the bassist calls to say that he couldn't make it to the concert either. Ralf didn't want to cancel the event so he called Mat Sinner and Tom Naumann (active Sinner members) to replace the absent members of his band. They enjoyed playing together that night. Next thing they recorded a few demo songs which they also liked. So they call Klaus Sperings (active Prolopower vocalist) to play the drums. They sign up with a record company and there it goes. Primal Fear (influenced by Judas Priest) released their first album, in 1998, a metal perfection praised by everyone. Now, one year later, their legend builds on, with the release of "Jaws of Death", an album which follows the unique steps of their debut. Free and strong as the "metal" bird on the cover, Primal Fear clearly state with this album, that they have come to stay. The "iron eagle" now carries the band into the new millennium on wings that guarantee a "fearful" success. As powerful as their style has been so far, Primal Fear released a renewed album promising to blast you with "nuclear" metal power. Marching on to the 2nd year of the 2nd millennium, Primal Fear light our metal way with a "Black Sun" proving that the band's show WILL go on.
